About me
Our Founder Kerry Chapman
Businesses rarely fail to grow because they need more HR. They struggle when their people, leadership and organisation can no longer keep pace with where the business is going.
That is where I come in.
I’m Kerry Chapman, Founder of StrategEQ Consulting. I work with founders, CEOs, investors and leadership teams to make sure the people side of the business is capable of delivering the commercial ambition.

Growth changes what a business needs.
Structures that worked at 20 people stop working at 50. Leaders who were effective during the build phase may need different capabilities at scale. Accountability becomes less clear. Performance becomes harder to manage. Hiring gets more expensive. Culture changes. Risk increases. And investment, acquisition or exit introduces a completely different level of scrutiny.
My role is to identify those gaps early and turn People strategy into a commercial lever for growth, performance, productivity, profitability, capability, risk reduction and value creation.
I’m a senior People executive with experience across the full people agenda and through different stages of the business lifecycle, from building foundations and scaling capability to transformation, restructuring and change.
My career has taken me from the operational realities of People leadership through to executive and board-level roles, giving me experience across People strategy, organisational design, transformation, workforce planning, talent and succession, leadership capability, performance, culture and engagement, recruitment, reward, employee relations, governance and people risk.
That breadth matters because businesses rarely have isolated People challenges.
Developing people as well as businesses
Alongside my consultancy work, I’m training to become an ADHD coach, deepening my understanding of neurodiversity, workplace performance and how different people can be enabled to perform at their best.
I’m also part of a mentoring programme supporting people earlier in their People careers. Developing the next generation of People professionals matters to me, particularly helping them build the confidence to understand the business, use their judgement and move beyond process-led HR.
Because whether I’m working with a founder, an executive team, a manager or someone beginning their People career, the principle is the same:
Understand the business. Understand the people. Align the two. Then turn that alignment into performance.
Aligned People. Accelerated Growth. Where IQ meets EQ.
